Gorseway

A big shoutout to Gorseway Nursery School. My toddler failed to settle in 2 childcare settings before starting here. I was beginning to think that I was the the one with the issue. Was my super clingy, breastfed, bedsharing toddler ever going to be okay leaving me? I'm so glad I ultimately pushed though doubts and listened to my gut. Gorseway have the most authentic amazing staff who tailored every aspect of my daughters settling in sessions to make both her and us as comfortable as possible. I know I'm not the only anxious parent who likes too research first, so here's my thoughts for anyone who is interested:

‐ Same 6 members of staff in whole of nursery that I got to know by name before settling in sessions ended. Gave me a well rounded feel of personalities and I can see exactly what each member brings to the team. They are all fantastic.

‐ I was welcomed to do the settling in sessions at our own pace. And they meant it! It took us weeks & weeks... but the staff were super welcoming and had great energy. I could have easily felt one of team.

‐ They have stay and play sessions for parents on a regular basis but even if you can't engage with these the nursery feels like an extension of home. It's a relaxing, fun & safe feeling environment.

‐ There are no am & pm sessions. You pay per half hour & hours to suit your needs. You don't pay for bank holidays. As long as there is space the nursery is more than happy to accommodate early drop offs, late pick ups & extra days.

Of course you expect any childcare environment to be safe & nurturing with experienced staff but Gorseway offers all that and so much more. With so many enthusiastic, humorous and warm personalities, it didn't take long for my daughter to go running in every morning excited to start the day.

This week she got to see ducklings hatch!
